Travel on Wa 165 and enjoy one of the World's unique steam rail excursions. 

 GCVR are unable to provide excursions as Tranz Rail has closed the line between Opoutama and Gisborne for safety reasons;  saying the line is not up to passenger traffic standard. We question  why, as Tranz Rail still operates up to 5 goods trains per week on this section of line, these trains typically have an axle loading double that of the safety margin we require for passenger safety on Wa165.

We continue to apply pressure on Tranz Rail to modify their stand in order to allow us to operate.
